The Cheesecake Factory was founded in 1978 and has grown to become a national chain of upscale restaurants with locations across the U.S. The company’s full-service restaurants offer over 200 menu items including 40 varieties of cheesecake. The Cheesecake Factory’s success is attributed to the unique value offered to guests, which includes great food prepared fresh daily, generous portions, and moderate prices. Each restaurant possesses a distinctive, contemporary design and decor that creates a high-energy ambiance in a casual setting.
How We Helped
With their fanatical attention to every aspect of the dining experience, it was clear to Automatic that creating another traditional website was simply not enough for The Cheesecake Factory. The goal was simple: bring the same uplifting, energetic, in-restaurant experience to life online. Automatic studied hundreds of restaurant websites and found a blaring commonality—web design was stuck in 2-D and relegated to mostly static technologies. In response, we designed an "experiential" website solution. Automatic combined dynamic video, pan navigation, sound design, and seamless user interface to create a compelling consumer experience. The new experiential website for The Cheesecake Factory is built on IBM’s WCM platform.
